Photographer Turns Amputated War Veterans Into Hot Calendar Models In This Super Inspiring Shoot
At first glance, these images might come across as just another calendar-themed erotic photoshoot. In reality, these images are more than just that!
Michael Stokes, a photographer from California, has put together a bold albeit powerful photshoot of amputee war veterans of the US military who’re seen displaying their amputated body parts and prosthetics oh so proudly!
This project started with a US Marine called Alex Minksy who suffered a roadside bomb in Afghanistan and thus had to lose his leg. Once the images from the shoot came into picture and set the tone of being boldly powerful, other veterans started signing which led to Michael ultimately publishing a book titled ‘Always Loyal.’
The project features 15 different war veterans of The Gulf Wars from the United States Army, Navy and Marine, including two women. In an interview to MTV news, Michael revealed that “some people will say to me ‘Oh, this is really helpful to their self-esteem,’ or, ‘You’re making them feel like men again,’ I hear all these types of comments, and the response I have to that is that these guys have come to me very healed and ready to take the world on. I’m not giving them back their confidence. They already have it.”
