Xiaomi Mi Mix Sells out in 10 Seconds, Limits Production to 10,000 Handsets Per Month
Xiaomi did it again, this time shattering one of the records that the Chinese tech manufacturer holds themselves. This is becoming sort of the norm for Xiaomi as the opening day launch of the Mi Mix managed to sell out in a mere 10 seconds. This broke their own record when the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 launched which sold out in 50 seconds flat which demonstrates consumer expectations for each new product launch.
To say the Chinese manufacturer is taking the world by storm would be a true understatement as the Apple look-a-likes have become more popular than the latest and greatest iPhone and Galaxy S smartphones. The Xiaomi Mi Mix is a mid-range handset that doesn’t quite compare to a flagship, but has proven its worth with its 10 second sell-out.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix maintains the innovative technology that consumers have come to expect along with a flair for more of a futuristic look. At first sight, the Mi Mix is the closest representation to a bezel-less display as the screen takes up 91.3% of the entire front face. The Mi Mix also sports rounded corners which makes the bezel seem even smaller, if that was ever possible at all.
Also noticeable from the front view, the front facing camera has been moved to the bottom of the display due to the lack of real estate above the screen. Coming in at 6.4-inches, the virtually no-bezel display will look like a display only phone when held in the palm of your hands.
Xiaomi integrated new gesture technology which allows the user to turn the display on and off. The proximity sensor which has become a hallmark of Xiaomi handsets is gone, replaced with the new gesture recognition sensor. The sensor can also detect depth and distance between phone and object without either one having to be in motion.
Getting your hands on the Xiaomi Mi Mix will be a challenge in itself as the Chinese manufacturer will be limiting production to only 10,000 handsets per month.
